    Matthew Fox
    Matthew Fox
(, the symposium’s featured speaker, has been called “the most creative, the most comprehensive, surely the most challenging spiritual teacher in America.” Formerly a member of the Dominican order of the Roman Catholic Church, Fox is an Episcopal priest and founder of the Creation Spirituality movement in Oakland, California. He is the author of thirty-one books, including Original Blessing, The Coming of the Cosmic Christ and Creativity (our text for the symposium).
  • Four practicing artists will embody Fox’s vision of creativity—the Via Positiva, Via Negativa, Via Creativa and Via Transformativa—exhibiting and speaking about their own yearnings to co-create within the munificence of the divine present.

GladdeningLight is for the keen observer and spiritual seeker receptive to the still small voice of the present moment, where the creative process thrives, unbound from past regrets and future anxiety. Pilgrims aspiring to the freedom of infinite love at the meeting point of the divine and human are invited to gather for an entire weekend of playful discussion and enlightened teaching amid an unforgettable aesthetic experience.

At GladdeningLight, there will be lectures on the artists’ arc of creativity, mystical journeys into inspired artworks, meditation and musical forms, and ecumenical joy for all things bright and beautiful.
