- GladdeningLight’s annual weekend symposium will take place February 3-5, 2012 at the Winter Park Civic Center in Winter Park, Florida.
- GladdeningLight’s signature event will celebrate the artist’s role within the second commandment expressing love for one’s neighbor as oneself.
- John Dominic Crossan, the symposium’s featured speaker, is a foremost authority on the historical Jesus and the matrix of first century Roman imperialism (Jesus: A Revolutionary Biography and The Birth of Christianity).
- Four practicing artists – Cherokee carver & storyteller Freeman Owle, photo essayist Brendan Bannon, iconic painter Trent Tomengo and community choreographer Barrie Barton – will support Crossan’s vision of God’s longing for a just and loving community, representative of all. The artists will exhibit and speak about their own creative aspirations struggling for transformation beyond societies that marginalize the disenfranchised.

GladdeningLight is for the spiritual seeker yearning for radical justice and a loving community in an unjust world.
Pilgrims concerned with the plight of the world will gather for an entire weekend of vigorous discussion, enlightened teaching and thoughtful reflection.
At GladdeningLight, there will be lectures on the Christian kinships of equality and renewal, journeys into inspired artworks, movement and musical forms, and heartfelt ecumenical reverence for the love of communion. While promising to stretch participants spiritually, GladdeningLight will also be fun!
